Best Time Use

BEST TIME USE

  • What’s important to be doing right now?
    • Why is it important to you?
  • What are you doing right now?
    • How does that differ from what’s important for you to be doing right now?
  • What’s in the way of you doing the things that are important to you?
    • Thoughts – eg of how long it will take, that it can’t be done.
    • Demands
    • Distractions
  • Consider that all that’s in the way is, in essence, an illogical idea.
    • Identify the idea that’s in the way, and blow the illogic in it!  Eg – It will take me all do to do that!  I can’t do it if I don’t have a whole day!  What’s the illogic here, what are the assumptions here?
  • Consider that it’s possible to do these things.
    • If it’s possible, how could it be done?  (bear in mind the paradox here, that there will never be enough time to do everything!)
    • What creativity could you use here to invent how it could work?
  • Consider also that our view of time, and particularly, how much time things will take, is more often than not, very inaccurate, and very disempowering!
    • If we take the view that our experience of time depends on how we perceive it, we can determine our experience of time, rather than be a victim of it.
    • Eg the thought “There isn’t enough time for this!?  Well, there is how much there is.  If I declare that there is enough, there is often just to bring the level of focus, peace, presence, clarity that will then support my action in the moment.  AND we need to be realistic too!  Always a paradox!
    • Determine your view of time, and see what other view you can come up with that would make a difference!
  • What would it be like for you to just be in action here?
  • What are your good habits that you can keep using?
  • What are your bad habits that are getting in your way?
  • What will happen if you keep going the way you’re going?
  • So, now what??
